The South Carolina Strawberry Festival will be seeking entries from talented individuals for our fifth annual Strawberry Festival Poster Contest. The winning design will be featured as the "Official Poster" design of the 2015 South Carolina Strawberry Festival. Contestants will also compete for more than $1,200 in cash prizes!

The South Carolina Strawberry Festival Poster Contest is open to any individual regardless of age, residency, or professional/amateur status. Participants may enter one piece of original artwork for consideration. 



All entries shall become property of the Town of Fort Mill and the South Carolina Strawberry Festival Committee (hereafter the “Festival Organizers.”) Except where prohibited by law, by participating in the South Carolina Strawberry Festival Poster Contest, you authorize the Festival Organizers to copy, alter, adapt, publish, distribute, exhibit, display, market, sell, promote, advertise, publicize and otherwise use your entry, including your name, signature, and other entry materials, as well as additional photographs, video footage or other images that the Festival Organizers may take of you as a Winner or Participant, in any manner and for whatever purpose the Festival Organizers shall elect without further compensation, notification or permission. You shall not claim or be entitled to receive any compensation for such use. Non-winning entries can be picked up in Fort Mill Town Hall, 112 Confederate Street, Fort Mill SC from June 2 to August 29, 2014.



The entry period for 2015 will be announced soon.



To enter, please complete the official entry form and return it along with your submission by the entry deadline. Submissions may be delivered to Fort Mill Town Hall (Administration Office), 112 Confederate Street, during regular business hours (8:30 am to 5:00 pm). Entries sent by mail should be packed carefully. Entries that arrive damaged will be disqualified from judging.




The 2014 Strawberry Festival Poster Contest included two divisions:

  • Youth/Student: Open to individuals/students who are 18 years of age or younger.
  • Open Division: Open to all participants regardless of age. (Exceptional youth/student artists may compete in the open division.

The first, second, and third place winners in each division was revealed and recognized on stage during the South Carolina Strawberry Festival Pageant on April 25, 2014.



Each entry must be an original piece of artwork created by the artist. Entries may not include any identifiable person, image, or material in which a third party has any intellectual or other property rights.

All entries shall be approximately 18” x 24” in size. Entries may be modified in size to accommodate layout, printing, and/or reproduction requirements.

There is no restriction on artistic medium; however, all artwork must be suitable for scanning and reproduction on posters, t-shirts, and other festival-related merchandise. Submissions may include, but are not limited to: paintings (oil, water color, etc), drawings, photographs, digital renderings, collages, etc. If submitting a digital rendering, please enclose a printed copy as well as USB or CD copy of the file.

Entries should relate to this year’s theme, “Berry’s Beach Bash” and/or the festival’s fifth anniversary. Special consideration will be given to entries that are also reflective of the Town of Fort Mill.

Entries may not be obscene, indecent, offensive, violent, hateful, or libelous, or contain any other content otherwise prohibited by law or inconsistent with the purposes of South Carolina Strawberry Festival.

Festival dates, logo and other content will be added to the final poster design and does not need to be incorporated into the artwork. It is recommended that artists include a small signature or mark as well as the year “2014” on the lower corner of their artwork.

Judging criteria includes: suitability for reproduction, originality, artistic composition, representation of theme and technique.



Judging takes place in early March.




The top three finalists from both divisions were recognized on stage during the 2014 South Carolina Strawberry Festival Pageant on Saturday, April 26, 2014 (7:00 to 10:00 pm at Nation Ford High School). Winners were announced at that time and do not need to be present to win.

Open Division Prizes:

    • First Place: $500 cash prize and the honor of being selected as the official festival poster design for the 2014 SC Strawberry Festival
    • Second Place: $300 cash prize
    • Third Place: $200 cash prize

Youth/Student Division Prizes:

    • First Place: $100 cash prize
    • Second Place: $75 cash prize
    • Third Place: $50 cash prize
