  The Town of Fort Mill and the Gerald T. Parks Memorial Foundation are pleased to announce that the fourth annual Gerald T. Parks Memorial Foundation 5K Run/Walk will take place on Saturday, May 7, 2011, in conjunction with the South Carolina Strawberry Festival.
This year, the 5K Run/Walk will take place at the Anne Springs Close Greenway in Fort Mill. The event will start at 8:00 am, with registration beginning at 7:00 am. Ample parking will be available at the Greenway. For directions to the Greenway, please click here.
The cost to register is $25.00 per person if paid in advance, and $30.00 per person if registering the day of the event. Pre-registration is encouraged. All participants will receive a Gerald T. Parks Memorial Foundation 5K Run/Walk T-Shirt and goody bag.   The Gerald T. Parks Memorial Foundation is a volunteer-based non-profit organization dedicated to assisting in the repair and development of military healthcare facilities. 100% of the proceeds from the Gerald T. Parks 5K Run/Walk will benefit the Dorn VA Medical Center in Columbia, SC. To date, the foundation has raised and donated over $50,000 to the Dorn VA Center.
